Mario Melendez’s early pursuit of advanced health educaiton was rooted in human optimization: Learning to help service members build resilience and sustain performance across their careers rather than waiting until the end to repair what had broken. His studies in these diverse fields have equipped him with a unique perspective on health, allowing him to integrate Eastern and Western medical practices. This scholarly transition underscores his commitment to understanding and optimizing the human body, laying the foundation for his innovative work at Neural Vita.

Mario’s own recovery led him beyond the standard model of care and into mindfulness-oriented therapy and
novel therapy outside the standard care model. A candid recommendation from a former commanding

this work, including time with the nonprofit The Mission Within, he experienced firsthand what becomes
possible when care addresses the nervous system, meaning, connection, and integration—not just
